Happy New Year to all you Metal Maniacs out there! Here are some interesting newsfacts for you! We are going to start to write new songs for a second album and off course we will be playing as much as we can. Keep an eye on the events section. First show to come will be on the 31st of januari, together with Heidevolk in JC Escape, Veenendaal. If you want to book us for a show, please mail to myrkvar@gmail.com.

Valkhof Affaire

Mykrvar will perform at the Valkhof Affaire (vierdaagse feesten), we will begin at 20:00 at the Club Voerweg. Other bands are Heidevolk and Finntroll.
Shiver records

Myrkvar has signed a deal with Shiver Records. The album "Als een woeste horde" will be released in September this year.
New single for sale

Our album comes in september this year. But for those who cannot wait we have released a single. This single contains "Trollen met de prei" (which will not be on the album!) and the album version of "Geboren uit oorlogslendenen". The single can be bought at gigs for only €3, or get one free with a t-shirt. A webshop will open soon so you can buy one online.

Sad news

Hjorulf has deceided to quit Myrkvar. This due to musical differences and time problems.
The rest of Myrkvar will continue. Hrabnilaz will take over the vocals. If we're gonna search for a new guitarist or singer is not sure. For now we will play our gigs with the five of us.
New drummer

It's been a while but now but now there is finally time for a decent annoucement.
Some time ago Eburaz decided that he wanted to focus more on his other band Shadowlord. So we had to search for a new drummer. And we found one! We are happy to tell you Arbudon has taken over Eburaz' place. He also played the gig at Occultfest. Check the photo section (can be found in Media).

Though they were very enthousiastic, the jury haven't selected us to play the final round of "De Roos van Nijnegen" (what the hell did we -a folk metal band- do at a pop-battle anyway!?)

Today we started with the recording of our album. We mainly experimented with the drums, and made some test recordings.

We have finally found a bass player for our group.
After two weeks joining us we had a gig in Dynamo and he played along very well.
With his blond beard, good basstechnique and music taste, he fits perfectly in Myrkvar.

Welcome to the official Myrkvar website.
A new year, so a new look. We decided it was time for a new look, so here it is. Not everything is up and running yet, as it still has some unfinished work here and there. We will have the website fully completed soon, and have everything working as it should. None the less, feel free to have a look around, but do keep in mind that not everything is done yet and some things are temporarily.
So, keep coming back and keep checking! The website might be fully complete next time you visit.
